After time at First Baptist Church of Cocoa Beach, students headed back to the Hampton Inn for their last night of worship and hearing speaker Cody Deese.  The worship this week has been so annointed and really prepared everyone’s hearts for hearing God’s Word!

Cody Deese brought a message that EVERY Christian should hear, and the young adults at camp are blessed to have heard it!  Cody taught from John 17:13-20.  He emphasized v. 20…so the world may believe.  We are to be IN the world, but not OF the world.  This does not mean we wrap ourselves in a Christian Cocoon, we only hang out with Christians, we even, buy Christian logo things, listen to Christian music, are sealed away with others who believe.  “We must stop ignoring the world around us & start engaging the world around us”.  It was an incredible message of truth!

We headed to the pool, a place where all week belly flops and chicken battles and fun in the sun had been.  Now this pool was where Pastor Matt Lawson baptized 28 students.  The pool was packed with the entire group, all cheering for their friends, encouraging those who had chosen to obey God and seek baptism.  It is an incredible way to close out an incredible week.

People were at their balconies watching, all the kids were cheering.

Everyone is having pizza, hugs and fellowship.  Tonight wraps up with many saved, many closer to God, and all of them touched andchanged.  Don’t forget to ask them how God moved in their hearts when they get home.  They will, hopefully, pack up everything they brought, and head back first thing in the morning.  The volunteers on this trip were amazing.  People may ask why anyone would give up a week to  spend time with teens.  Those of us who came wonder how anyone could miss this experience.  These incredible young adults….seeing them “get it”, watching them pray for their friends, each other, praiseing God in song, lifted hand and life.  It changes all of us…this truly was the Best Summer Camp Ever!

Matt is an author, husband, dad, and the high school pastor at First Baptist Woodstock just outside Atlanta. He believes teenagers can love Jesus with all their heart and change the world for Him! For exclusive content, be sure to subscribe by email.
